【摘要】:Itiswellknownthatmodernelectricalappliances,incorporatingelectricmotorsthatusecarbonbrushesforcommutation,mayemitaerosolized,particlesintothesurroundingenvironment.Thistestmethoddeterminestheinitial,fractional,filtrationefficiencyofavacuumcleanersystem,takingthoseemissionsintoconsideration.Forallvacuumcleanersystemstested,thetotalemissionsoftheunit,whateverthesource(s),willbecountedateachofthesixparticlesizelevelsidentifiedinthetestprocedure.Thistestmethoddeterminestheinitial,fractionalfiltrationefficiencyofavacuumcleanersystem,withorwithoutthemotoremissionsmathematicallyremovedinthecalculationofefficiency.1.1Thistestmethodmaybeusedtodeterminetheinitial,fractional,filtrationefficiencyofhouseholdandcommercialcanister(tank-type),stick,hand-held,upright,andutilityvacuumcleanersystems.1.1.1Water-filtrationvacuumcleanerswhichdonotutilizeareplaceabledrymediafilterlocatedbetweenthewater-basedfilterandcleaningairexhaustarenotincludedinthistestmethod.Ithasbeendeterminedthattheexhaustofthesevacuumcleanersisnotcompatiblewiththespecifieddiscreteparticlecounter(DPC)procedure.1.2Theinitial,fractional,filtrationefficienciesoftheentirevacuumcleanersystem,atsixdiscreteparticlesizes(0.3,0.5,0.7,1.0,2.0,and>3x03BC;m),isderivedbycountingupstreamchallengeparticlesandtheconstituentofdownstreamparticleswhilethevacuumcleanersystemisbeingoperatedinastationarytestcondition.1.3Thevacuumcleanersystemistestedatthenozzlewiththenormalairflowrateproducedbyrestrictingtheinlettothenozzleadapterwiththe1x00BC;-in.orifice.1.4Thevacuumcleanersystemistestedwithanewfilter(s)installed,andwithnopreliminarydustloading.Thefractionalefficienciesdeterminedbythistestmethodshallbeconsideredinitialsystemfiltrationefficiencies.Thefiltersarenotchangedbetweentestrunsonthesamecleaner.1.5Neutralizedpotassiumchloride(KCl)isusedasthechallengemediainthistestmethod.1.6Oneortwoparticlecountersmaybeusedtosatisfytherequirementsofthistestmethod.Ifusingonecounter,flowcontrolisrequiredtoswitchbetweensamplingtheupstreamanddownstreamairsamplingprobes.1.7Toefficientlyutilizethistestmethod,automatedtestequipmentandcomputerautomationisrecommended.1.8Differentsamplingparameters,flowrates,andsoforth,forthespecificapplicationsoftheequipmentandtestproceduremayprovideequivalentresults.Itisbeyondthescopeofthistestmethodtodefinethosevariouspossibilities.1.9Thistestmethodislimitedtothetestapparatus,oritsequivalent,asdescribedinthisdocument.1.10Thistestmethodisnotintendedordesignedtoprovideanymeasureofthehealtheffectsormedicalaspectsofvacuumcleaning.1.11ThistestmethodisnotintendedordesignedtodeterminetheintegrityofHEPAfiltrationassembliesusedinvacuumcleanersystemsemployedinnuclearanddefensefacilities.1.12Theinch-poundsystemofunitsisusedinthistestmethod,exceptforthecommonusageofthemicrometer,x03BC;m,forthedescriptionofparticlesizewhichisaSIunit.1.13Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatory......
